Easter makes

Hope you had a happy, sunny easter time... Ours was gentle and lovely. Well, the enforced gentleness of the first week wasn't much fun as I had an oh so painful back which meant I spent the time lying flat on my back, even unable to knit or crochet. That's when everyone realised I really was in pain. Luckily Mr R was able to be at home too so P had a fun time with his Daddy. It has meant that the holidays have seemed rather short, tho we seemed to have squeezed everything in - a Patch day, trip to the cinema, swimming, going to see Charlie and Lola's bestest play (slightly worried that P may have found it a little young, but he was adamant that he wanted to see it. He did enjoy it, tho maybe this was the last time we shall see it), bouncing with friends on the pillow and lovely days with cousins visiting from The Netherlands. And lots of playing games and wearing pyjamas all morning long! A good holiday.

Luckily I had done some Easter crocheting early on - many egg cosies from Sara Sinaguglia's Simple Crochet

Just look at those bell shaped bottoms... love this pattern!
These were made from any balls of cotton found in the basket, happily all springlike colours.

I do love this book - the beautiful matt pages and gentle pretty colours. So many more makes in there for me to enjoy! And there were more egg cosies but given as Easter gifts before I remembered to take photographs. Oh well, here are a couple more
Happy spring time!

  1. These egg cosies are very cute! Sorry to hear about your back and I can relate to the feeling of the holidays speeding by - we had so much on, in complete honesty ours wasn't the nicest Easter we've ever had, still the sun is here and it looks like it's staying! Bethx

    1. So tricky isn't it to balance the let's do something days with the lazy days. I do seem to be better at it in the summer holidays... with (hopefully) both weather and time conducive to lazy days! And thank you, back now returned to normal. Until the next time I have random sneeze or some other apparently innocent movement!

    1. My sweet egg cup still makes eating a boiled egg a happy occasion! Luckily it has remained in pristine condition since I was little. A collection would be delightful - you certainly should!

  3. So cute! My older girl also still enjoys Charlie and Lola and we loved their play when in came to Sydney.
